important + Pioneers of street arts

Transe Express was born in 1982, founded by Brigitte Burdin, dancer and choreographer, and Gilles Rhode, sculptor. Seven years of travelling with the companies ‘ Saldingbande’ and ‘Podingo’, circus experiences with’ La Toile filante’ and ‘Cirque Bidon’ have allowed these pioneers of street arts to imagine intervention theater and give birth to the Transe Express company.

Since then, the company has participated in particular at the opening of the Olympic Games in Albertville in 1992 on the Beaubourg courts with "The 2000 Shots Midnight," with "Wheel-Ages" in Paris for the Year 2000, the opening of the Sydney Festival in 2002 and 2005, the opening of the World Ski Championships in Val d'Isere in 2009, or the opening of Santiago a Mil in 2011. It has in its repertory a dozen permanent creations and nearly 80 ephemeral creations, and has performed in over 50 countries on 5 continents.
